Make a difference in your will
Help us make a difference to the lives of young carers for generations to come…
Whether you have a will already or are planning to write one, please consider adding a gift to Winchester & District Young Carers as part of your legacy. Your contribution will help to improve the lives of local children and young people with caring responsibilities by providing safe, quality support and offering a holistic approach for the whole family.
We strongly recommend that you speak to a solicitor to ensure that your wishes for your family and any charities cannot be misunderstood later on. Here are a few suggestions of possible ways you may choose to support us in your will.
Make a bequest (a gift) to the charity in three ways:
Residuary gift
A Residuary gift (made from whatever is left over once gifts of money and things have been distributed in accordance with your wishes). You can donate the whole or a portion of your residual estate.
Pecuniary gift
A Pecuniary gift (a specified sum of money you decide to donate from your estate). It is sensible to ask your solicitor to index link it.
Specific gift
A Specific gift (which could be an item you feel we could use or sell to raise funds).
What if I already have a will?
If you have already made a Will you can still help us by adding a codicil (a revision/update) to your Will. Again we would advise you to consult your solicitor or legal adviser, but a codicil is a standard, easy and effective way of adding a gift to the Winchester & District Young Carers at any time.
Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss legacies further.
