Make a powerful difference in your Will
Help us change the lives of local young carers for generations to come…
Whether you have a Will already or the time is right to write one, please consider adding a gift to Winchester & District Young Carers as part of your legacy. Your contribution will make a huge difference to the lives of local children and young people with caring responsibilities by providing safe, quality support and offering a holistic approach for the whole family.
A gift of £500 provides a whole-family event:
- an inclusive and accessible event for the whole family
- the chance for families to connect together and with others in similar situations
- fully catered event with fun activities for all
A gift of £1000 provides one young carer with an entire year of support:
- 25 sessions of emotional wellbeing support run by trained staff and volunteers
- 20 respite activities, such as theatre, sports, life skills and nature experiences
- access to referrals and sign posting to create a personalised package of support
- opportunities for one-to-one support
A gift of £5760 provides a whole “summer of fun!”:
- funds 192 respite activity places
- make memories for young carers, experiencing new activities like water sports, bushcraft, archery, theme parks and pottery making
- young carers often miss out on activities during the holidays due to their caring roles, but with your donation, you can provide a whole summer of fun for many young people!

Winchester & District Young Carers are proud to be part of Legacy Action Week. Legacy Action Week is the time of year when smaller local charities come together to remind people that they’re as equally deserving as the larger, more well-known institutions.
It couldn’t be simpler to leave a gift in your Will.
In fact, in 3 easy steps, you can leave a lasting legacy that will change the world for local Young Carers – that’s your superpower!
Step 1
You can talk to us about the real difference your legacy can make, by contacting Anna, our charity manager: 01962 808339
Step 2
Decide how much you would like to leave as a gift in your Will, whether a specified figure or a percentage of your estate.
Step 3
Talk to your solicitor and share the charity details with them – you can confirm these via the Charity Commission Office online.
We strongly recommend that you speak to a solicitor to ensure that your wishes for your family and any charities cannot be misunderstood when the time comes.

Thank you so much for considering leaving Winchester & District Young Carers a gift in your Will. Because of the generosity of benefactors and their legacies, we are able to continue the vital work we do in our community. You can help us reach more young carers and enrich their lives, helping them to thrive.
– Jan Ellis, Chair of Trustees (2025)
